The Probe Cable for Riff Box has dual purpose: probe needle is used to find JTAG signals on unknown phone boards, the second purpose is to power the target board without an external power supply. JTAG cable has labeled wires for easily connecting JTAG box
Description
Finding the JTAG pinout on unknown boards with this Probe Cable is much safer than using pin-finder solutions.
It is safer because, since here no matter what pad is being tested it is connected to box through the 10K resistor, this means that peak harmful current value applied to a pad is not more than 0.25 mA for 2.6V logic levels.
This method is fine when there is a visually detected island with pads which look like and most probably are JTAG pins but not yet confirmed
